  • Despite the presence of food pantries on most college campuses, many students still face significant challenges in accessing nutritious food. These challenges include limited pantry hours, inconsistent food availability, and the physical distance of pantries from where students spend most of their time. Additionally, the pressures of balancing work, study, and life, alongside issues related to identity, mental health, and relationships, often hinder students from securing and consuming well-rounded meals.

  • In response to these challenges, Sattvic Meals Foundation has developed a model that provides fresh, hot meals in highly visible outdoor areas on campus. This approach not only ensures that students can easily access nutritious food but also fosters a supportive and sustainable food culture. By sourcing groceries directly from local New Jersey farmers, the foundation not only supports student health but also promotes local agriculture, benefiting the broader New Jersey community.
